Gate 50 – Values

Your child protects family traditions like a treasure.

As a little guardian of values, your child has a clear sense of what a community needs to survive. They instinctively look after the well-being of family and friends, even if it means setting aside their own wishes.

With a knack for traditions, they uphold important family rules and turn into a mini grandpa or grandma, explaining to everyone the “right” way to do things. Their moral values act like a compass, guiding others even when those others never asked for directions.

Although your child is a natural protector, they sometimes fear taking on too much responsibility and then pile on even more. Help them understand that true care begins with self-care, or they’ll quickly become an overwhelmed do-gooder.

Tribal Circuit

“We are alike and support each other.”

Groups
If your child carries strong tribal energy, they help bring people together into groups who are alike and support one another. For example, a family might be connected through the same bloodline or shared values. These communities are not open to everyone. Your child’s loyalty and support are reserved for like-minded individuals. The motivation behind this is to survive as a tribe, which can also spark conflict between different groups.

How does our tribe survive?
The big questions your child with tribal energy asks are: How do we survive? Do we have a roof over our heads or enough food? If these needs aren’t met, they may feel restless and want to change the situation.

Deals / Trade
Your child instinctively understands that resources are exchanged in ways that benefit the group. With this energy, they make deals or agreements that hold value for the tribe. These don’t have to be written. A promise or handshake means a lot. If someone breaks that promise, your child may lose trust in them.

Traditions
If your child has a lot of tribal energy, they take pride in their origins and uphold traditions. For instance, they may pass on grandma’s recipes or celebrate ritual holidays with special devotion.

What are Gates in Human Design?

Imagine your child is a beautiful old castle. In this castle, there are 64 different doors. These are the Gates in Human Design. Each door leads to a different room with unique qualities, talents and characteristics.

Some doors are wide open in your child. These are the activated Gates. Through these open doors, energy flows constantly. They show where your child is especially strong, what they naturally do well and how they inspire others.

Other doors are closed or just slightly ajar. This does not mean your child does not have these traits. It simply means they are not expressed automatically. These rooms are entered only when certain people come into their life or special situations arise.

The magic lies in this: no child has the same doors open. While one child shines through the Gate of creativity, another glows through the Gate of leadership or intuition. That is why every child is so uniquely wonderful.

As a parent, the Gates help you understand why your child sometimes reacts so differently than expected and why that is perfectly right and important.
